DESCRIPTION:Hi 11C1\,\n   Here is a plea for Sleep In Heavenly (SHP) Peace Bed Builds. Attached are flyers and a forwarded message from the Cedar Springs Chapter asking for help. The details and their registration process is a click on as part of the forwarded document. They have other builds scheduled for Sunday 5/5\, Sat 7/27 and Sat 9/14.\n  The Kelloggsville SHP Chapter is having a build on 4/27. Registration details will follow.\n\n  Volunteers would be wonderful for all the builds. We are helping put a dent in the need for beds here in the district. We need more beds now.\n\n  Can we as a district get the information out to the clubs?\n\n  FYI the district 20 mattresses and 343 more are scheduled to be picked up in Ft Wayne on 4/16/24. Earl and Ken Adamy will do the transportation. Earl will deliver the 5 mattresses to Cedar Springs and the remainder to Kellkogsville on the morning of Wednesday the 17th. DESCRIPTION:Presentation:  Scott Brady-The future of Eyeglass Recycling \nGR Lions have sponsored the eyeglass recycling center (2008) for 16 years from the Muskegon Northside Lions Club.  While we have managed the center\, there have been 18 mission trips (Muskegon 12 totaling 40)  GR Lions have done 30\,981 exams\,  referred 2750 patients out.  We have been in Brent Spoelstra’s garage\, then to Jim Kaiser’s building\, then we thought we had a forever spot behind 616 Photography.  We shipped everything over and COVID hit.  Shut us down. We just started to get it going.  However\, we are getting old and our members are tired of working at the center so we are looking for another club to take it over.  Then the 616 building got sold. We have to be out!  Rockford will handle all the eyeglass recycling but Gary Anderson will still be handling the mission trips. \n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:The Grand Rapids Lions Club is excited to present the 18th Annual Blind Dinner Date! \nWe are extending an invitation for you to join us for an impactful event at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park(1000 E Beltline Ave NE\, Grand Rapids\, MI 49525) on Tuesday\, January 30\, 2024 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm for an evening of celebration in a gorgeous venue filled with great appetizers\, drinks and music. We are privileged to have Katie Mawby\, a member of the USA Adaptive Water Ski and Wake Sports Team\, as our featured guest. \nThe evening will also highlight the commendable efforts of local professionals who are committed to improving thequality of life for individuals with vision loss. 80% of the information we take in each day is processed through oureyes. Too often\, and without thought\, the ability to see is taken for granted. Grand Rapids Lions is committed topartnering with organizations working to help individuals living with vision loss.
